Instructions for use
Congratulations on your powerful new binoculars. Enjoy the experience
of undistorted image reproduction, the quality and effectiveness of
which reflect our high standards.
The Carl Zeiss brand is famous for outstanding optical achievements,
precision workmanship and long service life.
Please observe the following instructions for use in order to obtain the
best from your binoculars and to ensure that they remain your constant
companion for many years to come.
Folding
When folding the binoculars, ensure that both barrels, together with the
middle part, form a Z shape as shown in Fig. 2.
This gives the binoculars a space-saving form which allows them to be more
safely and easily stored in the case.
To unfold the binoculars, simply pull both halves away from each other.
Viewing with and without eyeglasses
If you do not wear glasses when viewing, use the binoculars with the eyecups
extended as shown in Fig. 1/A.
If you wear glasses when viewing, pull the edge of the soft rubber eyecups as
far as possible past the upper edge of the eyepiece as shown in Fig. 1/B.
Adjustment of the interpupillary distance
Adjust the two barrels relative to each other until you see one circular field of
view when viewing with both eyes.
Focusing
The binoculars have a centre focusing mechanism (focusing knob Fig. 1/C)
and a dioptre adjustment wheel (Fig. 1/D).
For focusing, close your right eye and focus the image in the left barrel using
the centre focusing mechanism (Fig. 1/C). Then close your left eye – and if
necessary – adjust the focus in the right barrel using the dioptre adjustment
wheel.
