1. Technical Data
Use for the intended purpose
WARNING
Use REMS Blitz properly for hard and soft soldering, heating, annealing, burning
off, melting, thawing, shrinking and similar thermal processes with propane.
All other uses are not for the intended purpose and are prohibited.

2. Setting up
Close valve of gas bottle. Use adjustable pressure governor (1 to 4 bar). The
use of fixed pressure governors (e. g. 1.5 bar) is possible, however the burner
does not produe the full power. Connect approved gas hose to the gas bottle
and to the screwed nozzie (3) of the gas burner. (Attention! Both sides have
left hand threads G ⅜").
WARNING
Set the gas pressure to 1 bar. Check the system for leaks!
3. Operation
CAUTION
Wear protective glasses!
3.1. Gas burner
Open valve of gas bottle. lf necessary adjust gas pressure as mentioned under
point 1. When activating the trigger (1) of the burner the incorpo r ated valve
opens. Simultaniously the spark generator (Piezo igniter) produces a spark into
the burn pipe igniting the gas. Particularly with fresh connections repeated use
of trigger is sometimes necessary until the air in the hose has vanished.
When the trigger is released the valve incorporated in the burner closes the
gas supply, the flame is extinguished.
When trigger is pulled and snap-in locking (2) activated, the trigger can be
released and the burner functions independently. Through renewed use of the
trigger the snap-in locking is de-activated. lf the trigger is r eleased the flame is
extinguished.
For silver soldering/brazing the flame cone should be between 20 and 25 mm
long. During the hard soldering process the tip of the flame cone should touch
the material. During the soft solder process the tip of the flame cone should
be kept off the material by about 10 to 15 mm. lf necessary the flame size can
be reduced by decreasing the gas pressure.
NOTICE
Reduce gas pressure only as far that the minimum length of the flame cone
stays at 8 mm. lf this length is shorter the gas b urner (spark generator) will be
damaged.
CAUTION
After use close valve of gas bottle and burn-off the remaining gas from hose
and burner.
3.2. Soldering material
For brazing use REMS Lot P6. Copper pipes- and fittings do not need to be
treated with flux, but should be clean. With other materials, e.g. brass, flux can
be necessary.
For soft solder use REMS Lot Cu 3. Copper pipes- and fittings must be clean.
For the preparation of the solder point put REMS Paste Cu 3 onto the pipe.
This paste contains solder powder and flux. The advantages of this paste are
that the required temperature for soldering is visible through the change of
colour of the paste and that a better fi lling of the soldering point is gained. In
any case however REMS Lot Cu 3 has to be added. REMS Lot Cu 3 and REMS
Paste Cu 3 have been specially developped for drinking water installations and
corespond to the respective DIN standards.
4. Maintenance
Prior to repair, close valve of the gas bottle and burn-off the remaining gas from
the hose and burner. For changing the burner jet, the burn pipe or the spark
generator, remove the 5 housing screws and take off the upper half of the
housing. Take off the burner from the lower part of the housing. Remove burn
pipe and jet support. Replace jet support with burner jet, and or burn pipe, and

REMS Blitz is for use with either hard or soft
solder. It is used for heating, flame cleaning,
melting, de-frost, shrinking and for other
thermal procedures.

or spark generator. lf further repairs required, the gas burner must be sent to
an authorized REMS service station. Own repairs or changes to the gas burner
are not allowed.
5. Action of faults
5.1. Fault:
Burner does not burn or only shows weak flame.
Cause: ● Empty gas bottle.
● Valve of gas bottle is closed.
● Hose defect.

● Burner jet blocked (see 4.).

5.2. Fault:
Burner does not ignite
(however functions on external ignition, e. g. matches).
Cause: ● Faulty spark generator (Piezo igniter).
6. Disposal
REMS Blitz may not be thrown into the domestic waste at the end of use but
must be disposed of properly by law.
7. Manufacturer's Warranty
The warranty period shall be 12 months from delivery of the new product to the
first user. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of the
original purchase documents, which must include the date of purchase and the
designation of the product. All functional defects occurring within the warranty
period, which are clearly the consequence of defects in production or materials,
will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of defects shall not extend or
renew the warranty period for the product. Damage attributable to natural wear
and tear, incorrect treatment or misuse, failure to observe the operational
instructions, unsuitable operating materials, excessive demand, use for unau-
thorized purposes, interventions by the customer or a third party or other
reasons, for which REMS is not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty
Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service stations
authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be accepted if the
product is returned to a customer service station authorized by REMS without
prior interference in an unassembled condition. Replaced products and parts
shall become the property of REMS.
The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the product.
The legal rights of the user, in particular the right to make claims against the
seller under the warranty terms, shall not be affected. This manufacturer's
warranty only applies for new products which are purchased in the European
Union, in Norway or in Switzerland.
This warranty is subject to German law with the exclusion of the United Nations
Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods (CISG).
