Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the ground terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the right and left tail light.
3. Drill a hole with a diameter of 12 mm through both tail lights in a centred position above the
cable leadthrough.
4. Drill holes with a diameter of 16 mm through the cross member at the same position right
behind the tail lights.
Socket installation
5. Connect the cables to the socket housing in accordance with the socket pin assignment plan
and push the rubber grommet towards the socket.
6. Fasten the socket on the holding plate using the supplied screws.
7. Lay the cable harnesses along the towing device to the left and right tail light and secure them
there using cable ties.
8. On both tail lights, pull the cable ends through the holes drilled as described in step 3 and 4
and insert the rubber grommets properly into the back of the tail lights.
Connecting the tail lights
9. Left tail light:
Disconnect the receptacle of the black cable for "left direction indicator" from the lamp

base. Connect the black cable of the cable set in this place and push the cable just
removed onto the free tab of the connected contact.
Do the same with the gray/black cable (left tail light) and the green/black cable (back-up
-
light, only 13-pin type).
Disconnect the vehicle's gray/white cable with the "rear fog lamp" function. Slip on the
-
supplied insulating grommet. Slip the supplied insulating grommet on the contact of the
blue cable of the cable set, too, and connect it to the contact just disconnected. Re-
connect the gray cable of the cable set to the contact for the rear fog lamp on the lamp
base.
Lay the individual cables properly and re-install the tail light.

10. Right tail light:
Disconnect the receptacle of the black/green cable for "right direction indicator" from the

lamp base. Connect the black/green cable of the cable set in this place and push the
cable just removed onto the free tab of the connected contact.
Do the same with the gray/red cable (right tail light) and the black/red cable (brake light).

Connect the brown cable (ground) to the free ground contact on the lamp base.

Lay the individual cables properly and re-install the tail light.
