Instructions for use
Congratulations on your new riflescope. You have chosen a product from
a series which has been proven over time and which is distinguished by
extreme reliability in the widest possible range of conditions.
The Carl Zeiss brand is famous for outstanding optical achievements,
precision workmanship and long service life. Please observe the following
Instructions for use in order to obtain the best from your riflescope and
to ensure that it remains your constant companion for many years to come.
Focus
Turn the eyepiece (3) to focus the reticle. It is recommended to focus using a
higher magnification level. The reticle then remains sharply defined throughout
the entire range.
Please note that simultaneous focusing of the reticle and the image at high
magnifications and distances less than 100 m is not possible with the new
Classic series as these riflescopes are adjusted to be parallax free at 100 m.
We recommend using smaller magnification settings for distances significantly
less than 100 m. The reticle and image are once again sharply focused as
a result of the larger depth of field when using smaller magnifications.
Deviations in the impact point caused by parallax errors do not appear if you fix
your target directly in the centre of the scope, even with larger or shorter
ranges. A rubber ring (2) has been attached to the eyepiece to avoid injury
(e.g. recoil).
Impermeability
The nitrogen-filled riflescope is waterproof and pressure proof as per ISO 9022-80.
The guaranteed on the seal is only valid if the reticle adjustment screw cap (1)
has not been unscrewed.
Please ensure, however, that the screw cap (1) and the sealing rings (7) are
properly seated. Damaged sealing rings must be replaced.
Reticle
Your riflescope is equipped with the reticle of your choice.
Most reticles (e.g. 1,4,8) built into the Classic Diavari 1.5–6x42 /2.5–10 x 50
and 3–12x56 riflescopes, as well as the Classic Diatal 6x42 and 8x56 riflescopes
are also suitable for range finding.
The illuminated reticles 40, 44, 60 and 66 built into the Classic Diatal / Diavari
7 x 50 / 2.5 – 10 x 50 and 3 – 12 x 56 can also be used for range finding. The
distances of the horizontal bars in reticles 1, 11, 40, 42 and 44 equate to a
distance of 70 cm at 100 m (side view of a deer). The distances between the
horizontal and vertical are twice as large for reticles 8, 60 and 66. The free
