Grates
Porcelain Enamel on Cast
Iron
English 24
•
The grates are heavy; use care when lifting. Place on a protected surface. DO NOT
clean grates in a self-cleaning oven.
•
The rough texture of the grate can sometimes remove aluminum deposits from the
bottom of pans and fill in areas between the high spots on the surface of the grate.
Use special care when cooking with copper and aluminum pots and pans as this
type of cookware can sometimes leave metal deposits on the grates.
•
Blisters/ crazing/ chips are common due to the extreme temperatures on grate
fingers and rapid temperature changes.
•
Acidic and sugar-laden spills deteriorate the enamel. Remove soil immediately.
•
Abrasive cleaners, used too vigorously or too often can eventually mar the enamel.
