4 Structure and function
The appliance is supplied ready for use and has its own
control unit.
The appliance is pre-programmed ex works.
The appliance contains one or more hermetically sealed re-
frigerant circuits whose components are permanently and
technically tightly connected to each other.
The design of the individual appliance models may
vary.
A device group consists of several individual devices
and is built in a modular design. A partition wall may be
required between the individual devices.

1 Brine circuit
Appliance models with brine circuit
The waste heat generated in the appliance is trans-
ferred to the external unit via a brine circuit.

▪ The connection to a brine circuit for cooling is per-
mitted only on devices of the manufacturer AHT.
Appliance models with "Air" mode (additional des-
ignation "AIR"):
The waste heat generated in the appliance is trans-
ferred to the ambient air via a liquefier.
Number, position, and depth of display shelves by
agreement with the manufacturer only.
Adhere to the loading specifications (see → Loading).
Depending on the model, the appliance can be
equipped with an automatic night blind (see → Auto-
matic night blind/appliance lighting) or doors.
The appliance is equipped with return air grilles (see →
Loading).
Correctly positioned return air grilles are required to en-
sure that the appliance functions properly.

▪ Operating personnel must check to ensure the cor-
rect position of the return air grilles daily.

4.1 Automatic defrosting
The appliance features automatic defrosting.
The frequency, duration, and time of defrosting are
preset.
Defrost time
Up to 60 min.
Display indicator (optional)
During automatic defrosting, the following display indi-
cator and symbols appear on the display (see → page
13, chapter 5).

The water produced on defrosting is collected in a col-
lection tray (base tray with drain, see → Cleaning
steps) and drained off via a defrosting water drain
(see → Setup and installation).
CAUTION
Leakage of condensation water.
Slipping hazard
▪ Check for puddles in front of and under the
appliance.
▪ Promptly remove leaking condensation water.
▪ Contact the maintenance service promptly
(see →Maintenance services).
During the defrosting process, an increase in the tem-
perature can occur on the internal temperature display.
4.2 Automatic night blind/appli-
ance lighting
The night blind (device-specific) and the appliance
lighting can, for example, be coupled to the market
lighting (control by external day/night signal). For tech-
