Titrations

The ISE25Pb is ideal for titration purposes. In fact, the most
reliable determinations (± 0.1% accuracy) of lead ions are
achieved by complexometric titrations using EDTA as titrant and
the ISE25Pb as the indicator electrode.
The stability constant of the complex equilibrium
will determine the course of the titration as the ISE25Pb is sensi-
tive only to free lead ions.
The titration curve mV = f(mL EDTA) showing the inflection point
found during the titration is shown below:

The lead-selective electrode is often used to determine sulfate by
titration. Lead perchlorate is used as the titrant and the titration
takes place in a solution which is 80% ethanol.
