5 - CONTINUITY AND RESISTANCES

Always check the battery condition before
using your multitester.
Never measure a resistance on a live circuit.
Connect to the terminals of the component or
the circuit to be tested.
Proceed as for a voltage measurement to
check that there is no voltage present.
Press the push button on the back of the ins-
trument : the display sets to the 2kW range.
Read the measured value.
NB : A beep is emitted for any resistance
£ 500 W ± 50 W ; this is the continuity sound
test
Release the press button and disconnect the
multitester from the circuit: it switches OFF
automatically.

Presence of voltage (Volt-test) :
If the circuit is accidentally switched on during
measurement of resistances, the red W light
comes on. Release the ohmmeter button
immediately; the CDA 104 displays the value
of the voltage present.
