If the valve has both a pressure and vacuum outlet, do not use both outlets
at he same time. In particular, if pressure in the cylinder is lower than 50 bar,
this may adversely affect the characteristics of the valve outlet.
Before connecting any accessory or medical device to the regulator, always
check that they are fully compatible with the product connection features &
the product performances.
CONNECTION TO THE PRESSURE OUTLET
Pressure outlet I
Ensure that the stem counterpart is compatible with the pressure outlet.
1.
Connect the quick-coupler adapter.
2.
Check the adapter for correct connection.
3.
Regulators with a threaded connector as a pressure outlet may only be used
as an integral part of a medical unit. Do not use them for other purposes!
Pressure outlet II
Ensure that the stem counterpart is compatible with the pressure outlet.
1.
Screw on the counterpart.
2.
Make sure that the counterpart is correctly screwed on.
3.
If a medical device is to be connected to the pressure outlet that requires
high gas flow (e.g. lung ventilator with demanding a gas flow rate of 100 l/
min at a minimum pressure of 2.8 bar), check the required flow rate of the
medical device with the valve's pressure and flow characteristics given in
Appendix No. 1. To ensure sufficient performance (of the valve's pressure
and flow characteristics) do not use a medical set if the pressure gauge
pointer is in the red zone.
CONNECTION TO THE FLOW OUTLET
Before connecting any accessories to the flow outlet make sure that the
patient is not connected to the product prior to operation.
Make sure that the hose/humidifier is compatible with the flow outlet.

Push the hose onto the regulator's flow outlet.
2.
Make sure that the hose/humidifier is in the correct position.
3.
USE OF THE PRODUCT FLOW OUTLET (FLOW SETTING)
Ensure that the flow control knob is in the "0" (OFF) position.

Ensure that the accessory is connected to the flow outlet

Slowly open the cylinder valve by turning the hand wheel in an anticlock-

wise direction with approx. 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from
oxygen pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could re-
duce actual flow delivered.
Set the flow control knob to one required flow rate.
