When fitting the regulator to the cylinder valve, do not apply torque/load to
any other parts of the product.
LEAKAGE TEST BEFORE USE
In the case of regulators with a flow metering device, set the "0" (OFF) value

Slowly open the cylinder valve by turning the hand wheel in an anticlock-

wise direction with approx. 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from
oxygen pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could re-
duce actual flow delivered.
Visually and audibly check possible leaks on:

the regulator inlet connection to the cylinder valve
•
the pressure indicator/sensor connection to the valve body
•
in the space below the flow control head of the flow meter (if connected)
Turn off the cylinder valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direc-

tion to the "stop" position. Do not use excessive force.
If any leakage is detected, employ the procedure described in chapter 6.3
and return the valve to GCE for servicing.
FUNCTIONAL CHECKS BEFORE USE
Using the flow control knob set the "0" (OFF) value.

Open the cylinder valve – "ON" position.

Check if pressure is indicated on the pressure gauge. If the pressure indica-

tor pointer enters the red zone, return the cylinder for its refilling.
Check that there is a gas flow at each set positions on regulators fitted with

a flow metering device (i.e. audibly or by checking the presence of bubbles
in a humidifier).
Turn off the cylinder valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direc-

tion to the "stop" position. Do not use excessive force.
6. Set the "0" (OFF) value using the flow control knob when there is no

venting anymore – ensure that the flow control knob engages correctly.
With regulators fitted with a pressure outlet, make sure that this outlet is

functional by connecting and disconnecting the quick-coupler adapter.
6.2. USER OUTLETS CONNECTION & USE
LIST OF RECOGNISED ACCESSORIES
To be connected to the flow outlet:
Humidifier, breathing masks and cannulae, gas economiser, nebuliser.
To be connected to the pressure outlet:
Low-pressure hoses, flow meters, Venturi vacuum ejectors.
