As for any natural product, cigars require particular care. They must be protected from extreme temperatures and stored
in a humidified location. Our only desire is to accompany you as best as possible in your passion over the years... In order
to achieve this, EuroCave uses its knowledge to combine the 4 criteria, essential for optimal ageing of vitola:
Temperature
The ideal temperature is located at approximately 17 °C/63 °F. Too cold, and a cigar will not deliver all of its sensory
qualities at the time of tasting. On the other hand, too much heat can cause contamination by lasioderma larva (tobacco
beetle), which hatch from temperatures of 30 °C/86 °F. Before tasting one of your cigars, take care to bring it to room
temperature, as you would with a grand cru bottle of wine, etc.
Humidity
This is an essential factor, enabling cigars to preserve their sensory characteristics. The level of hygrometry must be set
at approximately 70 % relative humidity. A too dry cigar is consumed too quickly as its natural humidity is not enough
to regulate combustion. A too humid cigar on the other hand, consumes poorly, and in this event, the taste is sharp and
striking, and the smoke is heavy.
Storage
Storage Moving cigars too often is detrimental to their preservation.. Having suitable storage that limits handling is
essential.
Natural ventilation / Air circulation
A constant supply of external filtered air is essential to prevent unpleasant odours and mould development.
