LCE-3 Starter Set, 230 Volt
THE PROTOTYPE
Express trains are used all over
the world to connect cities and
countries. Dining cars, mobile
offices and other amenities are
provided for travelers as they race
to their destinations at speeds of
up to 170 mph (270 kph).
THE MODEL
This detailed replica features:
- weather-resistant construction
- protected gearbox with seven-
pole Bühler motor
- four powered wheels
- one traction tire
- six power pickups
- length: 1630 mm (64.2 in)
- weight: 3900 g (8.6 lb)
THE PROGRAM
With this model, we recommend

You can make your train longer by
adding cars:

Additional Power
You can give your train more
power to pull additional cars with
the:
- 66095 LCE Upgrade Kit
The kit includes a second motor-
ized gearbox plus front and rear
lights. For information on the com-
plete LGB program, see the LGB
catalog.
SETUP
1. Connect the tracks. The
tracks make a full circle (1295
mm/51 in. outside diameter).
2. Insert the track clips. Make
sure the number on the clip
faces down.
3. Attach the power cable to the
track.
4. Connect the power cable to
the power pack. Connect the

red wire to Terminal 1. Connect
the blue wire to Terminal 2.
5. Plug the power pack into a
house current outlet.
6. Put the train on the track. The
cars are joined with a pin and
socket connector. Simply push
the cars together.
Have fun! Turn the control knob
on the power pack to make the
train go forward and backward.
Hints:
- To expand your layout, we rec-
ommend the LGB 19901 and
19902 track sets. For more infor-
mation, see the "The Next Step"
brochure, the LGB catalog or
www.lgb.com.
- The train and track in this set are
weather-resistant and can be
used outdoors.
CAUTION! The power pack is for
indoor use only. Keep it away from
moisture.
OPERATION
These instructions only describes
the operation of the train. Sepa-
rate instructions are included for
the power pack.
Power Supply
The train is powered by the
tracks. The pantographs are non-
functional.
Attention! For safety and reliabil-
ity, operate this model with LGB
power supplies (transformers,
power packs and controls) only.
The use of non-LGB power sup-
plies will void your warranty.
Use this model with LGB power
supplies with an output of at
least 1 amp. For more informa-
tion on LGB power supplies for
indoor, outdoor and multi-train
operation, see the LGB catalog.
Attention! After extended opera-
tion, this model may leave carbon
dust or other debris around the
track. This dust and debris can
stain carpet and other materials.
