Correct position in the wheelchair

Some recommendations for a comfortable use of the wheelchair:
Position your backside as close as possible to the back rest.
Make sure your upper legs are horizontal F If needed adjust the length of the foot
rests. (see § 3.4)

maximum slope angles (upwards and

Lean forward to move your centre of gravity forward.
Position the wheelchair as close as possible to
the chair, couch or bed to/from you wish to
transfer.
Check both brakes from the wheelchair are in
the on position.
Fold the foot plates upwards to prevent
standing on them.
If the transfer is on the side of the wheelchair,
fold the arm support on that side upwards.
