3 Applications

In combination with up to three 2.4 GHz wireless
cameras of the MONACOR "AV-...CCD" series, the
monitor AV-100BS serves for setting up a wireless
video surveillance system. As a maximum, four
cameras can be used:
1 x cable-connected camera TVCCD-510
3 x wireless camera, e. g. AV-100CCD or
AV-121CCD for outdoor application
For increasing the transmission range, wireless
cameras with a transmitting power of 25 mW are
also available, e. g.:
AV-3010CCD for indoor application
AV-3031CCD for outdoor application
4 Operation
4.1 Placing the cameras and the monitor
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
height of minimum 1.5 m to 2 m above the ground.
Prior to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as
the transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the wireless camera and the monitor by
a few centimetres only.
4.2 Presetting of the monitor
The monitor is factory-set for operation with four cam-
eras. If less than four cameras are used, the mon-
itor can be matched accordingly by means of the
double DIP switch (3) on the lower side of the monitor.
Thus, the camera channels which are not used will be
skipped during automatic camera selection (chapter 5).

4.3 Connecting units to the monitor
Switch off the monitor prior to making or changing any
connections.
1) If the cable-connected camera TVCCD-510 is
used, connect it to the jack C4 (16). When con-
necting another camera, observe the wiring of the
jack:

Video input
2) A video recorder can be connected for audio and
video recording and later replay.
For recording, connect the video and audio output
OUT (10) of the monitor (white for audio, yellow for
video) to the video input and the audio input of the
recorder.

For replay, connect the video output and the
audio output of the recorder to the video and audio
input IN (9) of the monitor (white for audio, yellow
for video).
3) Instead of a video recorder, a second monitor for
parallel surveillance can be connected to the video
and audio output OUT: Connect the video and
audio output OUT (10) to the video and audio input
of the second monitor.
4) Finally connect the supplied power supply unit to
the jack DC IN (15) and the mains plug to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5 Operation
1) Switch on the monitor with the POWER switch (6).
One of the indicating LEDs (2) will light up. After a
short time, the screen will be bright.
2) Select the signal source by means of the sliding
switch (11) on the rear side:
CAMERA = the monitor shows the camera pic-
VCR = video recorder replay
3) If several surveillance cameras are used, the
camera pictures can be successively displayed on
the monitor (automatic sequential switching). For
this purpose, the switch AUTO/MANUAL (5) must
not be locked (position AUTO). Use the control
TIME (7) to adjust the dwell time of a camera pic-
ture between 2 and 60 seconds.
For manual selection of a certain camera, press
the switch AUTO/MANUAL and select the camera
with the button SKIP (4). As a check, the corre-
sponding LED (2) will light up:

4) Adjust an optimum picture with the brightness con-
nected camera
trol BRT. (13) and the contrast control CONT. (14)
on the rear side.
5) In case of vertical rolling of
the picture (see figure on
the right), adjust a steady
control V-HOLD (12).
6) Adjust the volume with the control VOL (1). If no
sound is transmitted, turn the control clockwise to
zero.
7) After operation, switch off the monitor. If the sur-
veillance system is not used for a longer period,
disconnect the mains plug of the power supply unit
of the monitor from the mains socket; otherwise
the power supply unit will have a low current con-
sumption even with the monitor switched off.
