The units (monitor and power supply unit) correspond
to the directive for electromagnetic compatibility
89/336/EEC. The power supply unit also corre-
sponds to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
Attention! The power supply unit and the moni-
tor are supplied with very high voltage
dangerous to life. Leave servicing to
skilled personnel only. Inexpert handling
may cause an electric shock hazard. Fur-
thermore, any guarantee claim will expire
if any of the units has been opened.
Please observe the following items in any case:
Caution! The picture tube of the monitor is vacuous.
In case of mechanical damage, there is an implo-
sion hazard and scattered glass may cause injuries.
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water, high
air humidity, and extreme temperatures (admissible
ambient temperature range -10 °C to +55 °C).
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the unit,
e. g. a drinking glass.
The heat generated within the units must be carried
off by air circulation. Therefore, never cover the air
vents.
Do not insert anything into the air vents! This may
result in an electric shock or in damage to the unit.
Do not operate the monitor or immediately dis-
connect the power supply unit from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the monitor, the
power supply unit, or the mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
A damaged mains cable of the power supply unit
must be replaced by the manufacturer or author-
ized skilled personnel only.
Never pull the mains cable when disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug!
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.
No liability for any damage will be accepted if the
units are used for other purposes than originally
intended, if they are not correctly connected or
operated or not repaired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation definitively,
take them to a local recycling plant for a disposal
which is not harmful to the environment.
