HAZARD: EXPLOSION OR FIRE

Flammable fumes and liquids, such as propane or
gasoline, can explode or ignite and cause serious
injury.
PREVENTION:
Do not use equipment unless fully trained and qualified.
Do not allow open containers of flammables within 25 ft
(7.6 m) of equipment. Do not operate equipment within 10
ft (3 m) of any structure, combustible material, or other gas
cylinders.
Shut off all burners when adding fuel (propane gas) to
equipment.
Immediately close the tank shut-off valve if you smell
propane gas. Extinguish all open flames. If gas odor
continues, keep away from equipment and immediately
call the fire department from a safe distance.
Follow lighting instructions for the burner and torch.
Do not heat thermoplastic traffic marking compound
material above 450° F (232° C)
Fire extinguisher equipment shall be present and working.
Keep work area free of debris, including solvent, rags and
gasoline.

HAZARD: HAZARDOUS VAPORS

Toxic vapors or fumes are harmful if inhaled or
come in contact with the body. Vapors can cause
severe nausea, fainting, or poisoning.
PREVENTION:
Exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide, which is
colorless and odorless. Breathing carbon monoxide can
cause death. Do not operate in an enclosed area.
Appropriate protective equipment must be worn when
operating, servicing or when in the operating area of the
equipment. Equipment includes but not limited to:
- Protective clothing and respirator as recommended by
the fluid, material and solvent manufacturer.
- Protective gloves, shoes, overalls, face shield and hat
rated for elevated temperatures of at least 500ºF (260ºC).
- Wear ear protection. This unit can produce noise levels
above 85 dB.
Wear respiratory protection when using the equipment.
Read all instructions supplied with the mask to be sure it
will provide the necessary protection.
All local regulations regarding protection against
hazardous vapors must be observed.
Read SDS to know the specific hazards of the materials you
are using.
HAZARD: BURN HAZARD
Certain components of the equipment are heated
and become hot during operation.
PREVENTION:
Use common sense and caution around hot metal parts of
the machine, burners, flames and hot products within.
Do not touch heated material or equipment.
Allow material and equipment to cool before coming into
contact.
Appropriate protective equipment must be worn when
operating, servicing or when in the operating area of the
equipment. Equipment includes but not limited to:
- Protective clothing and respirator as recommended by
the fluid, material and solvent manufacturer.
- Protective gloves, shoes, overalls, face shield and hat
rated for elevated temperatures of at least 500ºF (260ºC).
In instances of burn from heated, melted
thermoplastic material, DO NOT attempt to
remove from skin. Run under cold water and
seek medical attention immediately.
