• Connect the power plug to a easily accessible electrical outlet so that in case of emergen-
cy the appliance can be unplugged immediately. Pull the power plug out of the electrical
outlet to completely switched off appliance. Use the power plug as the disconnection
device.
• Always turn the appliance off before disconnecting the plug.
• Never use the accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could
pose a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts
and accessories.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced phys-
ical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
• This appliance shall not be used by children under any circumstances.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended, and before as-
sembly, disassembly or cleaning.
• Never leave the appliance unattended during use.

Special safety regulations

• Caution! Make sure the cord does not come in contact with hot components while using
the ap- pliance.
• Do not install the appliance near objects and appliances that may be affected by a mag-
netic field, like, e.g., TVs, radios, bank cards and credit cards.

• Maintain a minimum clearance of 15 cm around the appliance for ventilation.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the appli-
ance cooking surface since they can get hot.
• Take care when operating the appliance, as rings, watches and similar objects worn by
the user could get hot when in close proximity to the cooking surface.
• Never switch on the appliance with an empty pan on top of it, as this may result in serious
damage to the appliance.
• Make sure the appliance is not set up near water vapour or greasy vapours. The fan of
the appli- ance will take in these vapours and this will cause grease or moisture to accu-
mulate in the appliance which may result in a short-circuit in the appliances. Clean the
grease filter regularly.
• Warning! If the cooking surface is cracked, power off the appliance to avoid the possibility
of electric shock.
• In combination with a pot filled with liquids, this appliance generates heat and steam
during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or injury
to persons and damage to property.
• Only use cookware of the type and size recommended. (See ---> Suitable cooking equip-
ment).
• Do not cook on a damaged cooking plate. Spillovers may penetrate the broken cooking
plate and create a risk of electric shock.
