3. General Guidelines

• The VDSSM3 should only be used indoors with an alternating current of max. 230VAC / 50Hz.
• Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the device.
• Select a location where the device is protected against extreme heat, dust and moisture.
• Install the device in a well-ventilated area. Keep a minimum distance of 0.3m around the device.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. Do not allow operation by unqualified
people. Any damage that may occur will most probably be due to unprofessional use of the device.
• Use the original packaging if the device is to be transported.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. All other uses may lead to short circuits, burns, electroshocks, crash,
etc. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
4. Fuse Installation
• Only fit or replace a fuse when the device is unplugged from the mains.
• If the lamp burns out, chances are you will need to replace the fuse as well.
• Replace a blown fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating (15A / 250VAC 5 x 20mm, order code: FF15N):
1. Unscrew the fuse holder on the rear panel with an appropriate screwdriver.
2. Remove the old fuse and install a new one.
3. Replace the fuse holder and fasten it with the screwdriver.
5. Description of the Subwoofer Amplifier
a. Top Panel (fig.1)
1. Ground / lift: remove the ground form the circuit to eliminate hum caused by grounding loops.
2. 4. 7. Limiter LED indicator:
Green: normal;
Yellow: limiter is automatically activated to cut signal overload;
Red: serious signal overload. Check the signal input.
3. Gain control B: controls the level of the incoming signal to the (left) full-range speaker.
5. Gain control A: controls the level of the incoming signal to the (right) full-range speaker.
6. Power LED: on / off LED indicator.
8. Subwoofer gain control: controls the level of incoming signal to the subwoofer.
9. Phase switch: sets the polarity of the system.
b. Rear Panel (fig. 2)
10. Balanced left full-range input: connects to a mixer for channel B.
11. 13. XLR balanced left full-range output (through): sends parallel full-range signal to additional systems
or components.
12. Balanced right full-range input: connects to a mixer for channel A.
14. Speaker output B: Speakon

connector output for (left) speaker (use pin 1+ and 1-).
