The light effect units "Flower" LE-170 and "Double-
Flower" LE-172 are ideally suited for applications on
stage and in discothèques. The units create multi-
coloured light beams which rotate to the rhythm of the
music. The light is controlled via an integrated micro-
phone.
The light effect units are not suitable for continu-
ous operation. An uninterrupted operating time of
1 hour max. is admissible.
2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC and to the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
The unit heats up very much during operation. To
prevent burning yourself, do not touch the housing
during operation or let the unit cool down for a few
minutes after switching it off before you touch it.
The heat generated within the unit must be carried
off by air circulation. Therefore, do not cover the air
vents of the housing with any objects.
Do not insert anything into the air vents. This may
result in an electric shock!
Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect
the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
Attention!
The unit is supplied with hazardous mains voltage
(230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling may cause an electric shock
hazard. The unit must be repaired by qualified
personnel.
A damaged mains cable must be replaced by the
manufacturer or skilled personnel only.
Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not correctly mounted, operated, or
not repaired in an expert way, no liability for any
damage will be accepted.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Inserting Lamps
The unit is supplied without lamps. For model LE-170
one halogen lamp is required, for model LE-172 two
halogen lamps with the following specifications:
12V/50 W, base GY 6.35 (e. g. HLZ-803 from the "img
Stage Line" range).
Never use lamps with a power rating exceeding 50 W!
Important!
Before inserting a new lamp always disconnect the
unit from the mains supply! As halogen lamps
become very hot during operation, let the lamp cool
down after operation of the unit (cooling time at least
5 minutes) before replacing them.
1) Open the lamp compartment.
Model LE-170: the cover of the lamp compartment
is on the lower side of the unit (see arrow in fig. 1).
Remove the screw of the cover. Carefully remove
the cover. Now there is easy access to the lamp-
holder mounted on a support that is fixed to the
lower side of the cover.
