1 Applications
GB
The light effect units LE-212, LE-222, and LE-232 are
especially suitable for applications on stage and in dis-
cothèques. The units produce dancing, multicoloured
light beams and thus provide an ideal dance floor at-
mosphere.
The models LE-212 and LE-222 operate independ-
ently of the music. The light effects are produced by
two continuously rotating radiating parts.
The light control of model LE-232 is made via an
integrated microphone. The differently coloured light
beams of the four spot lights radiate onto the mirror
pyramid in the centre rotating to the beat of the music.
The inclination of the spot lights can be adjusted.
The above-mentioned light effect units are not suit-
able for continuous operation. An uninterrupted
operating time of max. 1 hour is permitted. If the per-
mitted operating time is exceeded, the unit may be
damaged. In this case no guarantee for the unit and no
liability for subsequential damage to other units or to
persons will be assumed.
2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive 89/336 /EEC for
electromagnetic compatibility and the low voltage di-
rective 73/23/EEC.
The following items must be observed in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range 0-40 °C).
During operation the rotating radiating parts of models
LE-212 and LE-222 resp. the four spot lights of model
LE-232 heat up very much. To avoid burnings, do not
touch these parts during operation and after switching
off let the unit cool down for some minutes before
touching it.
The heat being generated in the unit has to be
carried off via air circulation. Therefore, the vents of
the housing must not be covered with any objects.
Do not insert or drop anything into the vents! This
could result in electric shock.
Do not set the unit into operation, or immediately dis-
connect the mains plug from the mains socket if:
1. damage can be seen at the unit or mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit uses lethal mains voltage (230 V~). In case
of improper action a shock hazard may occur. The
unit must in any case be repaired by authorized,
skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or authorized, skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use
any chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is mounted or operated in the wrong
way or not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for possible damage.
6
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, it
must be disposed of in a local recycling plant.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth; blue = neutral; brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Installing the lamps
The light effect unit is supplied without lamps.
Important! Prior to installing resp. replacing the lamps
disconnect the mains plug in any case! As halogen
lamps become very hot during operation, at first let the
lamps cool down after operation of the unit (cooling
down time at least 5 minutes) before replacing them.
3.1 Models LE-212 and LE-222
Two halogen lamps of 230 V/150 W, socket GY 6,35 or
GX 6,35 (e. g. HLT-230/150 by "img Stage Line") are
required. Install one lamp each per radiating part.
1) Screw off the three black screws at the radiating
part, and open the radiating part.
2) When replacing a lamp, carefully draw the old lamp
out of the holder.
3) To avoid impurities of the new lamp by skin grease,
it should not be touched with the fingers but with a
soft cloth. Install the new lamp: place the pin socket
of the lamp into the lamp holder.
4) Tightly close the radiating part again with the three
screws.
3.2 Model LE-232 (see fig.)
For model LE-232 four lamps of type PAR 36 (6 V/
30 W, socket with screw connection) are required, e. g.
the halogen lamps HLT-6/30 by "img Stage Line".
Install one lamp in each of the four spot lights.
1) Incline the spot light backwards so that the lamp can
comfortably be installed. To do this slightly loosen
the setscrew (c) at the spot light, incline the spot
light as desired, and tighten the setscrew again.
2) Screw off the screw cover (a) at the spot light.
3) When replacing a lamp, remove the colour filter (b),
carefully lift off the old lamp out of the spot light
housing, and loosen the two screw connections
which make the electrical contact between the lamp
socket and the connection cable of the lamp holder.
Remove the old lamp.
