A replacement spool may be stored in a removable com-
partment on the grip housing (fig. 12).
To remove the compartment cover, pull firmly on the
marked positions. After the spool has been removed,
replace the cover firmly.
Adjusting the mowing string
• Whenever the mowing performance decreases, it is
necessary to adjust (to extend) the mowing string.
• Turn the mowing machine on and hold it above the grass.
• With the motor running, knock the head on the grass
(fig. 13). The string will automatically extend and the
cutting device will reduce it down to the right length.
Note: If the string is shorter than 2.5 cm, it is necessary
to adjust it manually. Press the red push-button on the
coil until it reaches the stop and pull the end of the string.
If you cannot see the end of the string at all, proceed as
described in „Replacing the Mowing String".
Trouble shooting
• Cutting line disappears into spool: Remove spool, pull
end of line through the metal outlet and reinsert spool. In
case nylon line is used up insert a new spool with line.
Do not make any other repairs on your own; have your
trimmer checked and repaired by an authorised dealer.
