2. Description

The Inverter Charger Combi (ICC) is an all-in-one combination of a
DC to AC true sinewave inverter with AC Transfer switch and a AC input
power booster together with an advanced multi-stage battery charger.
All this is build into one compact, yet installer friendly enclosure. The
ICC is equipped with a Remote Control to operate the unit and display
the mode, power consumption and battery state with the help of
LED's. Besides these main functions, there are several unique features
offered as well. Some of which benefit from the strong interaction
between the main functions.
The Inverter Charger Combi is especially developed for usage in Recre-
ational Vehicles (RV).
The unit automatically starts charging the bord batteries and supplies
230V to all connected sockets when the vehicle is connected on shore
power.
For startup of heavy loads (e.g. aircondition), the AC input power boost
function will supply additional power from battery to avoid troubles
with weak exernal fusing.
In case of a grid/generator failure or disconnection, the Inverter
Charger Combi will turn off entirely in order to avoid uncontrolled
standby power consumption.
When there is no grid the inverter can be activated in either "Auto-
matic"- or "Permanent"-mode.
In case the grid/generator is reconnected again and the voltage and
frequency are within acceptable limits, the Inverter Charger Combi
activates the AC transfer switch and the battery charger again, while
deactivating the inverter. The connected loads are now supplied again
by the grid/generator without any interruption.
With the Remote Control the charger can optionally be operated in
night mode, noiseless without fans at half charge power.

Additionally, the Inverter Charger Combi offers features like:
• AC Input Power Boost, the inverter temporarily assists with pure
sinus synchronized to weak AC input sources when the connected
load needs more power than available from the grid or generator.
• AC Input Current Limit, which limits the maximum current
consumed from the AC input source by the Inverter Charger Combi.
This limitation is user selectable with a 3-way front panel switch for
3A – 6A – 10A.
• Power Factor Corrected AC Input, which optimizes energy efficiency
and makes sure that the maximum amount of charging current at
actual consumption is available from your AC source.
• Intelligent 4-stage, temperature controlled charge programs, for
any lead- or lithium battery type using the standard supplied
battery temperature sensor for maximum battery lifetimes.
• Night mode charge program, with reduced fan speed at half charge
power.
• Automatic standby of the inverter when load <25W for 10 min.
• Low voltage protection, automatic switch-off at low battery voltage.
• Fully programmable inverter, transfer switch and battery charger
parameters, using the Dashboard for Windows software.
• Programmable alarm relay, for optimal control of external devices
like generator starting or selective load disconnection.
• Freely assignable trigger input, which allows the user to control the
Inverter Charger Combi by external events.
• Temperature controlled fans, to guarantee silent operation under
less than full load conditions.
