Do this as follows:
If the meter is on, press the Test button to turn it off.
Wait for the motor to stop.
Wipe the test strip guide with a cotton swab lightly moistened with
cold water or 70 % ethanol.
Hold the meter in your right hand and place the thumb of your left
hand into the recess below the drum compartment cover. Then pull
the drum compartment cover with your fingers slightly to the front
and lift it up.
