BFT _ _ _ _-_ _003-_ _ _A0C-_ _
Installation
CAUTION
Combustion hazard!
When installing there is a risk from escaping hazardous
hot measuring materials.
► Temperature sensor must be installed only when not
under pressure!
Installation instructions:
Sealing surfaces on the temperature sensor and
measuring location must always be free of
contamination.
Screw and unscrew the temperature sensor only using
the wrench surfaces (27 mm open end wrench). Never
use the housing as a grab surface.
The proper tightening torque depends on the
dimension of the process connection and the sealing
used (shape/material).
Avoid tilting the threads when screwing in.
Ground temperature at the process connection.
Plug connector in and tighten by hand.

Sealing
To seal the process connections with round threads at the
sealing surface (see Fig. 8) use flat gaskets, sealing lenses.
For tapered threads (e.g. NPT threads) seal the threads
using for example PTFE tape (EN 837-2).

Compression fitting
1. Screw compression fitting 1 into the process
connection and tighten.
2. Guide clamping ring 2 with tapered side into the fitting
and tighten union nut 3 by hand.
b
3. Insert temperature sensor into fitting and hold at
desired insert depth. Tighten union nut 3 to approx.
50 Nm.
Optional: Check installation
► Loosen union nut.
⇒ The clamping ring is tightly connected to the probe
tube.
