For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the camera is to be put out of operation definitively,
it must be disposed of in a local recycling plant.
3 Applications
The high-resolution colour camera TVCCD-480COL is
designed for the use in video surveillance systems. The
special feature of this camera is its very high sensitivity.
It is provided with an automatic backlight compensa-
tion, an automatic white balance as well as an automa-
tic gain control (AGC). The video signal level can be
increased up to 2 Vpp so that a camera cable with a
length of up to 1 km can be used. An additional video
amplifier is not necessary in this case.
Lenses with automatic iris control (video signal con-
trolled or DC voltage controlled lenses) as well as lenses
with manual iris adjustment can be used. For the use of
lenses with manual iris adjustment the camera is equip-
ped with an automatic electronic shutter (switchable).
4 Lens
It is possible to use a lens with automatic iris control as
well as a lens with manual iris adjustment.
Attention! Protect the CCD image sensor chip and
the lenses of the lens assembly against dust and
impurities, and do not touch them with your fingers
in any case.
1) Remove the protection cover (1).
2) When using a C mount lens, screw it on the C mount
adapter ring (2).
When using a CS mount lens, remove the a-
dapter ring (2) and screw the lens directly on the
thread ring (3).
4.1 Lens with automatic iris control
When using a lens with automatic iris control [AI ("auto
iris") lens] set the selector switch (7) to the position cor-
responding to the lens type:
position "VIDEO": in case of a video signal controlled
lens ("video iris" lens)
position "DC":
in case of a DC voltage controlled
lens ("DC iris" lens)
A matching plug is supplied for the connection of the
lens to the 4-pole jack (11) on the camera side. The
jack has the following pin configuration (see fig. 3):
"Video Iris" Lens
Pin 1 video signal
Pin 2 operating voltage 9 V
Pin 3 not connected
Pin 4 ground
"DC Iris" Lens
