Getting started

∙ Place the drip tray into the housing.
∙ Insert the thermostat correctly into the housing above the drip tray to activate the
micro switch.
∙ Fill the drip tray with water up to the "MAX" marking. The water prevents over-
heating of the dripping grease and reduces heavy smoke.
∙ Place the grill plate and connect the device to a socket.
∙ Set the thermostat to Max. after 5 minutes, the grill temperature is reached. Then,
you can select a lower setting depending on the food to be cooked.
∙ Put the food on the grill plate.
∙ Water should be fill between the MIN and MAX marking, in order to do this, pour
half a litre of water through the refill opening every 30 minutes.
∙ Once finished grilling, turn back the thermostat.
Thermostat:
With the thermostat the temperature of the grill plate can be adjusted.
The numbers on the thermostat knob have the following meaning:
1 = thermostat switched on
2 = keeping warm
3 = grilling with low temperature (for fish etc.)
4 = grilling on medium temperature (for chicken etc.)
5 = grilling on max. temperature
Control Lamp:
Once the appliance is plugged in and the thermostat is adjusted, the control lamp is
shining. When the temperature is achieved, the light turns off.
Grill preparations:
Oil the grill plate slightly before the use. This makes it easier to turn the food. Then
heat up the device for ca 5 min; the thermostat on maximum level. The food should
be not frozen during grilling.
Important note
Cold-pressed oils, such as olive oil should not be used as dripping as these oils have a
poor quality at high temperatures.
Due to the high grill temperatures (up to 250°C), residues of oil, juices, herbs, etc.
build up on the hot grill surface and the non-stick effect decreases. It is hard or im-
possible to remove these residues from the grilling plate.
Therefore, only use heat-resistant oils!
