The pulling force is estimated on the
basis of the load that is to be moved or
determined with a
device, see Fig. 1.
Afterwards determine the minimal size of
the rope pulling machine.
Chose a rope corresponding to the
pulling machine.
If necessary reduce the pulling force by
inserting a rope pulley, see Fig. 2.
Before using wire rope hoists in guide
wire or stay wire ropes estimate or
measure the expected load. When used
with guide wire rope the load on the wire
rope hoist has to be monitored
Determine how the load can best be
fastened and prepare appropriate means
of fastening, see Fig. 4.
The pulling rope may not be used to
fasten the load.
Determine a location for the wire rope
hoist that provides good anchorage.
Attach the wire rope hoist with suitable
fastening devices in such a way that it
can adjust itself in the direction of pull,
see Fig. 5 on the left.
Insert the load bolt properly into the
sides of the housing.
Secure the bolt correctly by turning it
180° two times; see Fig. 5 on the right.
Chose a swivelling load hook with
locking bar when using textile round
loops. See Fig 4 at the top.
Lay down the rope.
In order to do so, unwind it from the reel,
see Fig. 6.
Only use completely undamaged ropes
and ropes without any bends. Otherwise
the rope may become jammed in the
rope pulling machine (formation of
baskets). If this happens, the load can
be neither lifted nor lowered anymore.
Attach the tow hook of the pulling rope
securely to the load with appropriate
fastening devices.
