HNS 526
8 Commissioning
After switching on the supply voltage, the initial commissioning begins and the unit brings up
the initialisation menu to adapt the parameters to the application, or it displays the actual
level, for example.
HYDAC HNS 526 level sensors are supplied by the manufacturer with the following setting:
■ Switching output(s) set to N/O
On the model with analogue output:
■ Window limits of the analogue signal set to "bot" and "top".
Set the parameters for the sensor via the LED display. When setting the limits of the
measuring range, ensure that (bot - top) is greater than 3 units. See fig. under point 6.2.
Notes:
■ HYDAC level sensors HNS are maintenance-free. Small amounts of dirt on the
surface of the sensor do not impair operation. Thick layers of dirt and caked-on dirt
can affect sensor function and must therefore be removed.
■ HYDAC level sensors HLS have internal temperature compensation. Because the
sensors heat up on their own, the temperature compensation reaches its optimum
working point after approx. 30 minutes of operation.
■ During normal operation, a yellow LED signals that the corresponding switching
output has connected.
■ If no object is found within the recording range, the LED-display shows "noL".
■ If no keys are pressed for 15 seconds during parameterisation, any changes made
are not saved and the sensor returns to the menu.
On the model with analogue output:
■ If an object is found within the set window limits of the analogue output, LED D2
lights up green, if the object is outside the window limits, LED D2 lights up red.
