s STARTING UP
1. Place the clean appliance on a dry, stable and heat as well as moisture resistant
table resp. worktop. Fully unwind the power cord.
2. Place the grease gutter and the grease collection tray in the appliance base.
3. Mount both grill plates to the appliance base so that they properly lock into
place. Rub the grill plates (only one, if you do not need both) with a kitchen
paper soaked in cooking oil.
4. Always mount both grill plates and never use the appliance with only one
grill plate mounted.
•
Note: If you insert the grill plates so that the grease outlets are directly above the
grease collection tray, the grease of the grillables is directly led into the grease
collection tray without passing the grease gutter.
5. If desired, place the splash guard on the edges of the grill plates. During grilling,
grease splashes might occur. Please make sure that the surface on which the
appliance is placed as well as the surroundings and nearby items are impervious
against grease splashes.
6. Plug the power plug into a suitable power outlet.
7. Switch the main switch on the appliance backside to "I". The two ready indica-
tors surrounding the temperature controllers light up in green if the temperature
controllers are still set to "0" and the grill plates are not yet heated.
8. If you need both grill plates for grilling, please set both temperature controllers
to the desired power. If you only require one grill plate, only use the temperature
controller under the particular grill plate. The ready indicators surrounding the
set temperature controllers light up in red to indicate, that the grill plates are
being heated up. Let the appliance heat up for approx. 15 minutes.
•
Note: The thermostat automatically switches on resp. off to hold the set tem-
perature.
9. When the ready indicator lights up in green, you can place your grillables on the
respective grill plate. The grooved grill plate is especially well suited for meat,
the flat grill place is for fish, seafood or vegetables.
10. Please use only utensils made from wood or heat resistant plastic to remove the
grillables from the grill plates. Never use kitchen tools made from metal, these
could damage the non-stick coating. For the same reason, do not, under any
circumstances, cut directly on the grill plate and do not use any metal grilling
utensils. Avoid prolonged contact of the plastic tools and the hot grill plates.
