3 Applications

The equalizer MEQ-115 / SW is mainly designed
to match a HiFi system to the room acoustics .
For this, two channels with 15 controls each
are provided to boost and attenuate frequency
band levels in the range between 25 Hz and
16 kHz . The range of the controls can be se-
lected: ±6 dB or ±12 dB . Offering various ad-
justment options, the equalizer MEQ-115 / SW
can also be used for other frequency response
adjustments of units with line level .
4 Installation
The equalizer is designed for installation into
a rack (482 mm / 19"), but may also be used as
a tabletop unit or placed into a shelving unit /
wall system . For rack installation, a height of
1 rack space (= 44 .5 mm) is required
5 Connection
The equalizer can be inserted as required, e . g .
between preamplifier and power amplifier,
between mixer and power amplifier or into
an effect way of a mixer .
Separate inputs and outputs are provided
for the channels 1 and 2 . In order to make
sure that the channels are not mixed up in
stereo mode, it is recommended to always use
channel 1 for the left channel and channel 2
for the right channel .
5.1 Inputs
The input signal should have line level . The
XLR jacks (15), the 6 .3 mm jacks (14) or the
RCA jacks (10) can be used as input for each
channel . The XLR jacks and 6 .3 mm jacks are
balanced; however, they can also be used for
unbalanced connections: Connect the pins 1
and 3 at the XLR plug or connect the con-
tacts for "GND" (ground) and signal "–" at
the 6 .3 mm plug .
