4 .2 SETTING FASTENERS WITH
EXTRACTION
ATTENTION
Incorrect setting of fasteners
Material damage
•
Position the fastener at right
angles to the part.
•
Observe the correct drill hole
size.
With our fasteners, the drill hole
size for the fastener is indicated
on the packaging of the respective
fastener. If fasteners from other
manufacturers are used, contact
the manufacturer for details of the
drill hole sizes.
Precondition:
•
The setting tool is connected to the com-
pressed air supply, see Chapter 3.5.
•
The stud holder has been tested, see
Chapter 3.6.
•
There is a drill hole for the fastener in the part.
•
Stud collector or stud discharge tube is
screwed on.
•
The required accessory and the appropriate
nosepiece for the fastener is installed on the
setting tool.
1. Insert the fastener into the nosepiece.
2. Position the fastener with the setting tool flush
and at right angles on the part.
3. Press the trigger.
The fastener is set.

4. Wait until the sheared rivet mandrel has
been extracted into the stud collector or stud
discharge tube.
The setting tool is ready to set the next

fastener.

Stud securing cap is screwed on.
•
The required accessory and the appropriate
nosepiece for the fastener is installed on the
setting tool.
1. Insert the fastener into the nosepiece.
2. Position the fastener with the setting tool flush
and at right angles on the part.
3. Press the trigger.
The fastener is set.

4. Tip the sheared rivet mandrel out of the
nosepiece to the front if it does not fall out
automatically.
The setting tool is ready to set the next
