2 .7 .4 Stud discharge
The stud discharge can be used as an alternative
to a stud collector or stud securing cap. The stud
discharge is particularly suitable for workplaces
with large numbers of fasteners. With the stud
discharge, the sheared studs are discharged
through a hose into a separate container. Emptying
is not necessary and work can be continued
without interruption.
2 .7 .5 Extended front sleeve
The extended front sleeve allows a fastener to be
set in confined spaces. Extended front sleeves are
available in the lengths:
•
130 mm
•
170 mm
•
210 mm
2 .7 .6 Contact force control
The contact force control system is intended to
ensure that fasteners and parts are assembled
without gaps. The contact force control system also
has a safety function, as it prevents the tool being
triggered without a part.
2 .7 .7 Foot pedal
The foot pedal replaces the actuation of the trigger
by hand in order to have both hands free for
handling the part.
2 .7 .8 Axial trigger
The axial trigger allows a fastener to be set
vertically.
The nosepieces supplied with the
basis tool can no longer be used
after installation of the axial trigger.
The setting tool is supplied with
new nosepieces after fitting the
axial trigger.
2 .8 OPERATING MODES
ATTENTION
Improper extraction
Material damage
•
Do not use the extraction
system to pick up dirt or other
substances.
•
Use the extraction system only
as described in this manual.
On delivery, intermittent extraction
is set as operating mode.
36 | English
2 .8 .1 Intermittent extraction
In this operating mode, the extraction system is
activated when the trigger is pressed and runs for
approx. 2 to 3 seconds after the trigger is pressed.
This operating mode is suitable for use during
horizontal setting of a fastener with the fastener
inserted into the tool or with the fastener inserted
into the part. For this operating mode, a stud
collector must be screwed onto the setting tool or a
stud discharge tube attached.
2 .8 .2 Continuous extraction
In this operating mode, extraction is continuous.
This operating mode is recommended for all
applications where the fastener can easily fall
out of the nosepiece or out of the part before the
setting operation. The fastener is prevented from
falling out by the continuous extraction. For this
operating mode, a stud collector must be screwed
onto the setting tool or a stud discharge tube
attached.
2 .8 .3 Without extraction
No extraction takes place in this operating mode.
This operating mode is particularly suitable for
vertical setting of a fastener and for all applications
in confined spaces. For this operating mode, the
stud securing cap is screwed onto the setting tool
or a stud discharge tube is attached.
