WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, read
and understand the installation manual before
attempting to assemble the rack system .
Assembly Instructions and Tips
• If the connecting wall is made of typical drywall
and wood studs, use a stud finder and locate
the studs that are in the area of the installation .
In most cases, the studs are distanced at 16‫״‬
or 24‫ ״‬apart .
NOTE: A good practice to determine the
minimum length of fasteners required to secure
the rack to the wall, is that the fasteners should
penetrate the stud material (excluding the
wall or drywall thickness) to a depth at least
three times the thickness of the material being
secured .
• If the Workshop Racking System unit is to be
connected to the wall using a framing lumber,
first level and connect the framing lumber to
the studs .
• When securing the storage rack to finished
drywall, the horizontal rails must be secured to
the wall studs only . Do not secure the rails to
the drywall using drywall anchors .
• When installing multiple racks side by side, first
securely fasten the 2‫-״‬by-4‫ ״‬framing lumber,
at least 52" wide, to the wall studs . Fasten the
horizontal rails to the framing lumber .
• Inserting the plastic parts may require using
a mallet or plastic hammer . Use a cloth or
wood block to protect the surface finish of the
product .
• The Workshop unit must be installed on a clean
and level surface . Use shims as required under
the footplates to ensure the legs are well-
adjusted and the bracket pairs are level .
NOTE: We recommend tightening the
accessories nuts and bolts only after the rack is
well adjusted and level .
• Each upright frame has two footplates, each
with two anchor holes for floor anchoring .
Each footplate must be securely anchored to
the floor with screw sizes 5–6 mm (#10–1/4"),
35–50 mm (1-38"–2") long.
• If additional connections to the wall are
needed, use the two spacers for additional
strength, as illustrated in FIGURE 22 .
• The pin of the storage mounting brackets must
be inserted into the holes of the vertical rails,
and secured with the supplied screw and nut,
as indicated in FIGURE 21 .

Post Assembly Information
WARNING: Never overload the ToughSystem
Workshop Racking System with loads above
those stated in the product technical data .
The storage rack is designed to support a
defined maximum load capacity . Overloading
the storage rack unit may cause the rack to
collapse, resulting in death or serious injury .
• The Workshop Racking System unit must be
securely fastened to the wall and anchored to the
floor before any loads are applied to the rack .
• Always load the rack so that the heaviest items
are on the lower set of brackets .
• Load only small stable items on the optional
top shelf, with the load evenly spread . Round
or unstable items can roll, causing injury to you
or others .
CAUTION: Load the storage shelf evenly .
Load heavy objects nearest the vertical posts
and light objects nearest the center . NEVER
overload the storage rack .
• The storage rack may experience some
distortion if the maximum load is approached .
Move or re-distribute heavy items to eliminate
or minimize any potential distortion .
WARNING: Always lock the ToughSystem
products to the Workshop Racking System
brackets with the product side handles .
• Replace damaged or missing parts
immediately . Storing ToughSystem
with missing or damaged handles can cause
property damage and death or serious injury to
you and others .
• Perform regularly scheduled inspections and
maintenance at least annually:
- Bolts and nuts have to be snug and tight .
- Check for missing or damaged hardware to
be replaced .
- Check any damage and corrosion on storage
rack components, including beams and
uprights .
All damaged components should be replaced
immediately .
- Check all storage rack units are well-adjusted
and level .
- Check to make sure the storage rack is used
according to the load capacity limit .
