Pre-Assembly & Installation Considerations
WARNING: The FACOM ToughSystem
Workshop Racking System should be
assembled only after reading and fully
understanding this manual . Improper assembly
may cause safety hazards .
• Preparation is essential before beginning the
installation . All applicable instructions should
be reviewed and followed .
• The Workshop Racking System unit should
be assembled carefully and according to the
assembly instructions .
• To avoid trip and fall hazards the assembly area
should be cleaned and clear of all materials and
debris before installation .
• The Workshop Racking System unit should
be anchored to any floor such as concrete,
wooden, brick etc . Every column footplate
of each storage rail unit should be properly
anchored to the floor with screw sizes 5–6 mm
(#10–1/4") and 35–50 mm (1-3/8"–2") long.
• Fasteners used to secure the rack must be the
appropriate type for the wall and floor material .
(Fasteners are not included in the kit).
• The Workshop Racking System unit should be
installed on a clean and level surface . Since
few floors are perfectly flat, shimming may be
required for rack installation .
• Nut and Bolt connections should be tightened
according to the fastener manufacture's
recommended torque .
CAUTION:
• Do not install the Workshop Racking System
unit outdoors . Standard paint for indoor
products may not be sufficient for an outdoor
environment .
• Do not expose your Workshop Racking System
unit to corrosive or harsh material or abnormal
humidity . This may cause deterioration of the
surface paint and result in premature corrosion .
• Do not cut, weld, modify or attach anything
to the storage rack components . Any
modification may reduce the load capacity of
the components and damage the integrity of the
rack structure, therefore causing a safety hazard .
Any modification to any storage rack component
will void any warranties and guarantees .
• Do not install rack kit components with
products designed for another system .
Use the rack kit only with your ToughSystem
compatible modules . Using the rack kit with
another system may result in damage to the
system and personal injury to you and to others .
