4.2.11 Connecting the infrared radiators to the control unit

Each infrared radiator needs its own power supply. Plug the infrared radiator into a mains socket.

Connect the Iris EF radiator to the Iris TS control unit. Up to 30 infrared radiators can be connected
in a daisy chain in up to 4 lines to the Iris TS control unit.

The radiators are switched on via an existing HF signal. If the Iris EF infrared radiator does not receive
a signal from the control unit, it switches to standby mode.

Different distances between the control unit and the various infrared radiators can cause a signal
delay. In order to prevent so-called "dropouts", the cables used should all be of the same length.
• The signal compensation key on the infrared radiator can be used to compensate for the cable delay.

Caution:
If you connect several infrared radiators to an Iris TS control unit in a daisy chain, connect a
terminating resistance of 75 Ohm to the free BNC connector of the last infrared radiator in order to
prevent signal reflections.
