Returning an Instrument for Repair
If returning an instrument to the manufacturer for repair, it should be
sent freight pre-paid to the appropriate address. A copy of the Invoice and
of the packing note should be sent simultaneously by airmail to expedite
clearance through Customs. A repair estimate showing freight return and
other charges will be submitted to the sender, if required, before work on
the instrument commences.
NOTE: The batteries are Nickel-metal-hydride and if these are changed the
disposal of old cells should be in accordance with local regulations.

End of life disposal

WEEE
The crossed out wheeled bin placed on the Megger products is a reminder
not to dispose of the product at the end of it's product life with general
waste.
Megger is registered in the UK as a Producer of Electrical and Electronic
Equipment.
The Registration No is WEE/HE0146QT
Batteries
The crossed out wheeled bin placed on the batteries is a reminder not to
dispose of them with general waste at the end of their life.
This product contains NIMH batteries, the main instrument is powered
from a 4 X D cell pack (4.8V 7Ah), and a memory backup cell (3.6V
80mAh)
Battery replacement should only be performed by a Megger authorised
repair agent, who will correctly dispose of the spent battery.
For the purpose of end of life disposal only, the main 4.8V battery is
located in the bottom of the battery module. Remove six screws the on
module top cover to gain access. The memory backup cell is located on
the measurement pcb in the main instrument assembly.
The larger NiMH 4.8V D cell pack is classified as an Industrial battery. For
disposal in the UK contact Megger Ltd.
The memory backup NiMH cell is classified as a portable Battery and
should be disposed of in the UK in accordance with Local Authority
requirements.
For disposal of batteries in other parts of the EU contact your local
distributor. Megger is registered in the UK as a producer of batteries. The
registration number is BPRN00142
