Fig. 28
- Connect the motor to the power wires.
Fig. 29
- Carefully push the motor back into the nose of the fuse-
lage. You may find it necessary to file away the fuselage
slightly to clear the motor wires. Ensure that the wires are
not jammed in place - see arrow.
Fig. 30
- When the motor is in position, fit the 2.9 x 9 mm self-tap-
ping screws to secure the bulkhead.
Fig. 31
- Connect the speed controller to the receiver, and push it
into the appropriate bay in the fuselage.
Motor cooling
Fig. 32
- Draw a line all round each exhaust pipe at a point 10 mm
from the end, as shown in the photo.
Figs. 33 and 34
- Push the exhaust pipes into the fuselage as far as the
marked lines. Set them horizontal, and secure them with
a little cyano.
Installing the tail panels and tailwheel unit
Fig. 35
- Place the wing on the underside of the fuselage and
secure it, taking care not to snag any cables. This enables
you to align the tailplane accurately.
Fig. 36
- Place the prepared main undercarriage assembly on the
underside of the fuselage. Temporarily fit the two central
2.9 Ø x 18 mm self-tapping screws to secure the under-

carriage and the wing.
Figs. 37 and 38
- Plug the fin into the tailplane; ensure that the elevator
horn is on the underside.
- Glue the fin to the tailplane, taking care to keep the parts
at right-angles.
Fig. 39
- Place the tail assembly on the fuselage, check that it is
"square" when viewed from above, and set the tailplane
parallel to the wing by viewing from the tail.
- Glue the tail assembly to the fuselage using cyano.
Fig. 40
- The tailwheel assembly, ready to install.
Fig. 41
- Place the tailwheel unit on the fuselage and the rudder,
and check that it is in the "straight ahead" position.
- Secure the unit with two 2.2 Ø x 10 mm self-tapping
screws.
Fig. 42
- Set the elevator to the centre position. You may need to
turn the elevator horn round before connecting it to the
elevator pushrod.
Fig. 43
- Set the rudder to centre. You may need to turn the rudder
horn round before connecting it to the rudder pushrod.
The decals
Fig. 44
- Cut out the wing decals and lay them on the wing.
Position the decals in a symmetrical pattern, and mark
their position. When you are satisfied, peel off the back-
5
ing layer and press the decals down onto the wing, taking
care to avoid trapped air bubbles.
Fig. 45
- Apply the decals to the fuselage using the same proce-
dure, again taking care to keep them symmetrical and in
the same position on both sides.
- Fix the black canopy to the fuselage with cyano.
Final work
Fig. 46
- Slightly loosen the socket-head screw in the propeller
driver.
Fig. 47
- Connect the aileron servos. Place the wing on the fuse-
lage, and fit the six self-tapping screws to secure it.
- Fit the propeller on the motor shaft. Check that there is
adequate clearance between the spinner and the fuselage
nose, then tighten the socket-head screws again.
Fig. 48
- The next step is to check the model's Centre of Gravity.
You must install the flight battery for this procedure, but
do not connect it at this stage.
Figs. 49 and 50
- Place the battery hatch over the opening, and rotate the
turnbuckle to secure it.
Fig. 51, balancing
- The Centre of Gravity ("C.G.") should be in the range 100
to 115 mm back from the wing root leading edge. Mark
this point on both sides of the fuselage.
- Use your index fingers to support the model at the
marked points close to the fuselage, and allow it to hang
