1. Close the lid and hold it pressed down with one hand. Make sure that there are no food
residues located between the rubber seal and lid.
4. To switch on the device, press the On / Off button (the button remains depressed). The
vacuum pump begins to suck the air out of the box. The red control lamp (POWER) lights
up.
5. After approx. 2 minutes all of the air will have escaped from the box. The pump stops
automatically and the green control lamp (VACUUM) lights up. The red control lamp goes
out.
• If it is not possible to generate a vacuum, the vacuum pump automatically switches
off after approx. 5 minutes. The green and red control lamp flashes.
• The device operates with an automatic pump programme which automatically
switches the vacuum pump back on again when the pressure in the box falls below a
threshold value (pressure).
• When the device is switched on, the automatic programme is activated. You can tell
that the device is switched on if the On / Off button is depressed into the device.
• If the vacuum pump keeps switching on at short intervals, check whether the lid is
shut correctly, the rubber seal and the filter of the pump are free of any contamination
and that the filter is not covered by any food.
• Please note that you must first switch off the device before you open the lid (see the
"Opening the Lid" section). You can tell that the device is switched off if the On / Off
button sticks out of the device.

❐ In adapter mode, pull the mains adapter out of the socket before cleaning.
❐ Never immerse the device, the mains cable or the mains adapter in water or other liquids.
Ensure that the device, cable or adapter cannot fall into water or become wet.
❐ Never touch the device, cable or adapter with wet hands.
❐ In battery mode, remove the batteries from the device if the device is not going to be used
for a prolonged period. This will prevent damage that might occur if the battery leaks.
❐ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These could damage
the surface.

2. Fold up the locking latch with your other hand and hook the
top part of the locking latch into the lid (see illustration).
3. Press the bottom part of the locking latch against the box.
The locking latch must be heard to lock into place.
