Inserting / changing Batteries

PLEASE nOtE!
❐ Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts in the device and on the batteries
are clean; clean them if necessary.
❐ Should a battery have leaked, do not allow your skin, eyes and mucous membranes to come
into contact with the battery acid. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected sites with
abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as soon as possible.
❐ Use only the battery type specified in the technical data (see the "Technical Data" chapter).
Use high-performance alkaline batteries.
❐ Always replace all the batteries at the same time. Do not use batteries of different types or
brands, or batteries with different capacities.
• The device can be operated with batteries or with a mains adapter.
• If you want to operate the device with batteries, you require four 1.5 V D type
batteries. These are not supplied with the device.
• During battery mode, the device must not be connected to the mains power.
1. Pull the plug out of the connecting socket of the device if necessary.

Adapter Mode

PLEASE nOtE!
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must match
the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only use suitable
extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not allow
the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become caught
and pull the device down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
• The device can be operated with batteries or with a mains adapter.
• During adapter mode, no batteries must be inserted in the device.

2. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the device by
pressing the tab on the cover towards the battery compartment.
3. Insert four 1.5 V type D batteries. Pay attention to the correct
polarity (+ / –).
4. Close the battery compartment again.
