• In extreme temperatures, these guidelines may not apply.
• After 30 seconds the display will switch from the battery test results to the fence voltage.
P4600 and P6000 only:
At the switch position "Battery test" the digital display shows
the battery voltage. When the voltage is outside the normal
range, the battery symbol in the display flashes twice per
second. We recommend to recharge the battery immediately.
During normal operation at the following switch positions
symbol on the display flashes when the battery voltage is too low. We recommend recharging
the battery immediately.
Battery selection and management
This section refers exclusively to rechargeable, lead-acid batteries, for example car, tractor,
truck, marine or special deep-cycle batteries. The size of battery you select will depend on the
model of energiser you have and the selector switch position you use most frequently. Refer to
"Operation" on page 50 for an explanation of the function of the selector switch.

Battery overcharged or wrong type of battery
Full battery charge voltage (80–100%):
• No action required.
Medium battery charge voltage (50–80%):
• No action required.
Low battery charge voltage (20–50%):
• Monitor battery voltage
• Recharge the battery to avoid long-term
damage to the battery.
Bad battery charge voltage (10–20%):
• Recharge the battery immediately
• Energiser will automatically revert to Slow
Speed and Half Power
Very bad battery charge voltage: (0–20%):
• Recharge the battery immediately
• Energiser will automatically shutdown (deep
discharge protection) to save energy. The last
green LED flashes once per second
