Installing the energiser as part of a solar installation
The energiser may be installed with solar panels as part of a solar installation.
A solar installation consists of these items:
• The energiser
• Rechargeable battery (or battery bank)
• One or more solar panels
• An energiser earth system

For detailed installation information, please refer to the separate operating instructions,
provided with each solar panel.
For instructions about the installation and monitoring of the earth, please refer to "Installing
and testing an earth system" on page 63.
Operation
Using the selector switch
Select the appropriate pulse speed and output power level using the selector switch.
P4600/P6000 only: When the energiser is switched on, for the first few seconds the LCD
display shows the firmware version and remote control address setting. After this, the energiser
resumes normal operation. In poor light conditions, when the selector switch position is
changed, the LCD display illuminates for 20 seconds.
P4500 only: The energiser begins normal operation within 6 seconds of being switched on.

Description
The energiser is off and is not operating.
The P4600/P6000 will not respond to commands
from a remote control
The energiser operates at full power but the battery
voltage is displayed by the indicator. See "Battery
Test setting" on page 57 for an explanation of the
indicator lights.
