Tensioning of v-belts
Tension of v-belts must be checked on regular basis.
New v-belts should be usually tensioned for the first
time after 1-2 hours of operation.
Later on, the v-belts should be checked and re-ten-
sioned after each 500 hours of operation. Keep in mind
that operation of the blower under heavy-duty condi-
tions may need more frequent inspection and mainte-
nance of v-belts.
To check tension of v-belts it is first necessary to dis-
mantle the cover of the v-belts guard. Never forget to
reinstall the cover before starting the blower up after
the maintenance.

Tension of the v-belt can be checked by depressing it
until the deflection of 13 mm (1/2 inch) is reached. If
the v-belt is correctly tensioned, the force of 7.5 kg
(16.5 lbs) is necessary to reach such a deflection.
Alternatively, a special tool for checking of the v-belt
tensioning can be used. It the deflecting force is less
than 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs), the v-belt must be re-tensioned.
Otherwise, if the force is higher than 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs),
tension of the v-belt is too high.
Check tension of all the v-belts. If uniform tensioning of
all the v-belts is infeasible, the full set of v-belts must
be replaced with a new one.
