Flush panel mounting
Maximum thickness of panel: 3 mm
Panel cutout required:
138 x 92 mm (+1 mm / –0 mm)
1. Separate base from the controller
2. If required, knock out holes on the base for fitting
cable entry glands
3. Insert base in the panel cutout from behind until
stop is reached. Marking TOP must be at the top!
4. Push lateral tongues behind the front panel (see
illustration below)
5. Wire up the base. Make sure the cable lengths will
be sufficient so that the control panel door can be
opened
Wrong
Place tongues correctly on the left and on the right; they
may not protrude inside the cutout!
Securing the controller to the base
1. Make sure that position and orientation of the
turning levers are correct, using the fixing screws
(illustration below shows the lateral wall of the
controller housing)
2. Insert controller in the base until stop is reached.
Marking TOP must be at the top!
3. Tighten fixing screws gradually
Commissioning
Plant-specific settings
Use setting knob
for setting the heating curve
slope. The coding switches and setting potentiometers
for the plant-specific settings are accessible after
opening the cover.
Exercise caution with underfloor and ceiling
heating systems!
The limit thermostat must be correctly set. During the
functional check, the flow temperature may not exceed
the maximum permissible level (usually 55 °C). If it
does, proceed immediately as follows:
-
Either switch off the pump, or
-
Close the pump isolating valve
Siemens Building Technologies / Landis & Staefa Division
Correct
Functional check
1. Check wiring to ensure it agrees with the plant
connection diagram
2. Switch on power supply
3. Check the room unit:
-
If the room unit does not respond or does not
display anything: see if wiring is interrupted
-
A short-circuit can be detected only in that the
control system stays in the standby mode.
Check wiring!
-
If there is a general fault status signal, see if the
boiler temperature is correct
4. Interrogate the boiler temperature on the room unit:
-
Display must be correct
-
The display of --- means a short-circuit or inter-
ruption of wiring
5. Interrogate the outside temperature on the room
unit:
-
Display must be correct; if not, check wiring for
interruptions
-
The display of --- means a short-circuit or inter-
ruption of wiring
6. Set heating curve slope to the maximum value
using setting knob
-
Burner must switch on
-
If not: check boiler temperature detector, check
wiring of burner, check wiring of room unit to see
if there is a short-circuit
-
Circulating pump must switch on
-
If not, check wiring
7. Set heating curve slope to the minimum value:
-
Burner must switch off (observe minimum run-
ning time), circulating pump must remain acti-
vated
-
If not: check boiler temperature detector, check
wiring of burner and of circulating pump
Settings
1. Set heating curve slope as specified in the plan-
ning documentation or in compliance with local
practices, using setting knob
