11. Mounting
CAUTION
Danger of injury when working at
heights, especially when
performing ceiling installations.
Use suitable, certified climbing aids
(ladders), to ensure safe footing
(e.g. for overhead installation).
11.1 Mounting instructions
● Check packaging and device for transport
damage. Do not commission a damaged
unit.
● When performing ceiling installations,
thermally insulate the ventilation ducts
correctly.
● Only install unit on a dry, level surface.
Any installation position can be selected.
● Only operate the unit when it is completely
installed.
● Only connect unit to a permanently wired
electrical installation with NYM-O or NYM-
J, 3 x 1.5 mm² cables.
● A mains isolation device with contact
openings of at least 3 mm at each pole is
mandatory.
● The unit may only be operated using the
voltage and frequency shown on the rating
plate.
● Be sure to observe the relevant
regulations for electrical installation; in
Germany this is particularly VDE 0100,
with the corresponding parts.
● The degree of protection is guaranteed if
installation is undertaken correctly and the
cables are correctly fed into the housing.
11.2 Preparations for mounting
1. Switch off the mains power supply,
position a visible warning notice to avoid
the unit being accidentally switched back
on, check that there is in fact no voltage
present.

The prescribed minimum distances
to the wall and the ceiling as shown
in the following figure must be

NOTICE regarding ceiling mounting
Danger of short-circuits/unit damage in
case of a build-up of condensation in the
housing.
Thermally insulate ventilation ducts in a
professional manner. Allow for a
condensation drain or condensate
collector in the riser.
Suitable mounting material is to
be supplied by the customer.
2. Make sure the housing has a level base.
3. Provide wall breakthrough. Alternatively,
drill a core hole ‒ minimum diameter
AE 10: 105 mm / AE 16: 155 mm.
Recommendation: Use wall sleeve
WH 100 or WH 150. Minimum
diameter of wall breakthrough 115
mm or 168 mm. If necessary,
shorten the wall sleeve and fix it with
construction foam. Use suitable
protective equipment.
