11 Disposal
NOTICE

Cause
• Tungsten electrode and plasma
nozzle make contact
• Distance between tungsten
electrode and plasma nozzle too
large
• Tungsten electrode is worn out or
oxidised
• Distance between the workpiece
and the torch too large
• Pilot arc does not burn
• Inadequate coolant flow
• Welding current too high
• Coolant hose or liquid-cooled
power cable constricted or
sealed
• Tungsten electrode worn out
• Plasma nozzle worn out
• Centring ceramics missing
• Plug not connected properly

Troubleshooting
• Re-adjust the electrode
• Re-adjust the electrode
• Re-sharpen and align the
electrode
• Shorten the distance
• Ignite the pilot arc
• Check and repair
• Reduce the welding current
• Remove constriction and replace
cable assembly if necessary
• Sharpen the tungsten electrode
• Replace the plasma nozzle
• Replace the centring ceramics
• Connect the plug
• Check electrical connection
