Inserting/Removing/Changing the Battery
Pack
Insert the supplied battery pack 17 into the battery
compartment in such a manner that the labelling
"Install this side down" faces downward. Allow the
locking knob of the cap 18 to engage in the housing
of the measuring tool.
To remove the battery pack 17, press the locking knob
outward and pull out the battery pack out of the bat-
tery compartment.
When the battery pack 17 is to be replaced, pull off
the cap 18 of the battery pack to the side and slide in
a new battery pack. Pay attention that the locking
knob on the battery cap is on the same side as the
labelling "Install this side down".

Remove the battery pack from the measur-
ing tool when not using it for longer periods.
When storing for longer periods, the rechargeable
batteries can corrode and discharge themselves.
Charging the Battery Pack in the Measuring
Tool
Charge the battery pack 17 before using for the first
time. The battery pack can only be charged with the
battery charger 24 provided. For charging, the battery
pack must be inserted in the measuring tool.
Connect the appropriate charge cable for your mains
supply to the battery charger 24.
Switch the measuring tool off. Insert the charger plug
25 of the battery charger into the socket 16 on the
measuring tool. Connect the battery charger to the
mains supply. Charging the empty battery pack takes
approx. 8 h. The battery charger and the battery pack
are protected against overcharging.
