For the user

The CVM is a direct-driven centrifugal fan,
suitable for connection to circular ducts.
The CVM has a vibration-free suspen-
sion of the motor and rotor. The housing
is built from aluminium sections, con-
nected together by plastic corner pieces.
The double-walled panels are made from
galvanized sheet. The exterior is painted
white. Glass wool is compressed between
the inner and outer walls to provide good
insulation.
Use
The fan is intended for the movement of
air and designed for installation in a duct
or pipe system with connections to both
sides of the fan. The permissible temper-
ature of the air to be moved is from -30°C
to +40°C. The fan is designed for continu-
ous operation and may not be switched
on and off more frequently than once per
5 minutes.
Guarantee
Zehnder provides a 1 year guarantee for
the fan. The guarantee period commenc-
es on the date of purchase.
The guarantee will not apply, if:
The installation has not been carried

out according to the applicable regula-
tions;
The defects are due to incorrect con-

nection, inexpert use or fouling of the
fan;
Changes have been made to the wiring
�
or repairs have been made by a third
party.

The cost of dismantling and reassembly
on site falls outside the terms of the guar-
antee. If a fault develops in the guarantee
period this should be reported to the
installer.

For the installer

Transport and handling of the fan
The fan may be lifted only by the housing.
Fitting the CVM fan
The fan is suitable only for installation
�
indoors;
The suction and discharge connections
�
can be placed in succession by simply
exchanging two panels;
The motor has a thermal protection
�
switch that resets automatically;
All the connections should be made
�
before the fan is operated;
The fan should be fitted securely.

If one or both sides of the CVM fan are
not connected to a duct appropriate
measures must be taken to guard mov-
ing parts (see EN 294), in the form of a
protective grille.
