Options
You can customize your wash by adding options to your cycle
selections. You can add or change an option after starting a cycle
anytime before the selected option begins. Not all options are
available with all cycles. Available options will glow amber.
Current selections will glow green. If an option is unavailable
with a selected cycle, the light will not illuminate.
■
See the "Laundry Guide" for an overview of possible options
for each Wash Cycle selection.
■
You can select more than one option for a custom cycle.
Some options cannot be added to some cycles. For example,
Soak cannot be added to the Quick Wash cycle.
■
If an option is unavailable with a selected cycle, there will be
3 short tones, and the light for that option will not glow when
selected.
Custom Cycle
Custom cycle allows you to store a customized wash cycle for
future us.
To Customize a Wash Cycle:
1. Select a cycle.
2. Select the desired OPTIONS.
3. Select the desired MODIFIERS.
4. To save the cycle, press and hold to set CUSTOM CYCLE
(approximately 3 seconds) until a beep sounds and the letters
"SET" are displayed on your machine.
5. Press START.
6. To reuse this cycle at another time, select CUSTOM CYCLE
and press START.
Prewash
Use this option for loads of heavily soiled items that need
pretreatment. This option adds 20-minutes prewash without drain
to main wash cycle.
Add detergent to the Main Wash compartment of the Dispenser
Drawer.
NOTE: The Prewash option cannot be selected with the Soak,
Quick Wash, Handwash/Delicate, or Rinse/Drain & Spin.
Soak
Use the Soak cycle to help remove small spots of set-in stains on
fabrics. This cycle provides a soak time with warm or cold water
followed by drain. Extra water, a short tumbling phase for equal
distribution of the laundry, and a soaking time without drum
movement improve the removal of set-in stains. Drain without
spin assures gentle treatment, even for delicate articles.
Using the Soak Cycle: The soak cycle provides a soak time
with warm or cold water followed by drain.
1. Add detergent only to the Main Wash compartment of the
dispenser drawer.
2. Press the SOAK button.
3. Choose the desired soak temperature.
4. Select and hold START (approximately 1 second).
2nd Rinse
A second rinse can be used to aid in the removal of detergent or
bleach residue from garments. This option provides an additional
rinse with the same water temperature as the Normal rinse. This
is the default rinse setting for the Whitest Whites cycle.
Extended Spin
Use this option to add an additional spin to any cycle to improve
drying times for some heavy fabrics or special-care items by
reducing excess water, which may save energy.
Delay Start
To begin the wash cycle later, select DELAY START until the
desired delay time (in hours) shows in the Estimated Time
Remaining display, and then select START. The countdown to
the wash cycle will show in the display window, and the button
indicator will blink until the cycle begins.
IMPORTANT: When delaying a cycle, use only powdered
detergents in the main wash compartment since liquid detergents
may seep out of the compartment during Delay Start, before the
wash cycle begins.
Cycle Signal
This signal is helpful when you are removing items from the
washer as soon as it stops. Press CYCLE SIGNAL to select Loud,
Soft, or Off.
Button Sounds
Button sounds are used to notify you of what has been selected
or to let you know when something is not available. Press
BUTTON SOUNDS to select Loud, Soft, or Off.
Modifiers
Preset cycle settings of Wash Temp, Spin Speed, and Soil Level
can be changed. You can change a modifier after starting a cycle
anytime before the selected modifier begins. Not all modifiers are
available with all cycles and options. Available options will glow
amber. Current selections will glow green. If a modifier is
unavailable with a selected cycle, the light will not illuminate.
