• Operate the steam switches only when the water reservoir is
fi lled with water as otherwise the water pump may be damaged
and the useful service life of the device may be shortened.
• Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs
or ovens in order not to damage the device. Do not place any
naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the immediate vicinity of
the device, cable or plug.
• Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
• Do not place any heavy objects on the device, the cable or the
plug.
• Do not pull or carry the device by the cable.
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide tem-
perature variations, moisture, wet conditions or direct sunlight.
• Always test the device fi rst on a small, inconspicuous spot on
the clothing.
• During and shortly after use, place the device upright on its
base and on a fl at, stable and heat-resistant surface to prevent
damage to the surface which could be caused by the hot bottom
section of the iron.
• Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the
device. These may damage the surface. Do not use any metal
objects to remove dirt from the bottom of the iron.
• Store the device away only once it has completely cooled down
and there is no more water in the water reservoir.
