– Pumps with a screw connector or threaded flange
are basically suitable for suspension directly from
the pressure line. The pump can be suspended
with a clamp support (fig. 8) or from chains/steel
cables (fig. 9).

5. Electrical connection

The motor can be damaged
if the voltage applied is incorrect!
A technical test before commissioning
must ensure that the required electrical
protection measures have been taken.
Earth connection, zero setting,
isolating transformer, fault current
or fault voltage protective switch must
comply with the regulations
of the relevant power supply company.
The electrical data specified
on the nameplate must correspond
to the existing power supply.
The free cable ends must on no
Warning
account be immersed or become
wet in any way.
The electrical regulations regarding
damp/wet rooms must be observed.
All electrical connections must be
in areas free from danger of flooding.
Series fuses:
Slow-acting fuses with ratings
2 - 3 times the motor rated current
are recommended.

5.1 Alternating current motors

Pumps SW x-x SL are provided as standard
with a type T12 mains plug on the connecting cable
and can be plugged-in directly.
The temperature sensors (WSK) fitted in the winding
operate if the motor overheats and interrupt the power
supply. The WSK is used as a temperature controller
and must not be acknowledged, i.e. the motor switches
on again automatic-ally after cooling.

5.2 Three-phase motors

The three-phase motors are designed for direct starting
(DOL). They must be connected to a switching unit
with suitable motor protection switch (Biral control
units are recommended). The SW pumps with a power
consumption from 5.5 kW are fitted with a temperature
sensor set (WSK) in the motor windings, which can
switch off the motor if it overheats, i.e. the WSK
is brought out with the pump connecting cable
and must be connected to a suitable control unit.
An over-temperature sensor must be acknowledged
by the user after successful fault elimination.
